NNJ's COVID-19 Response

3/29/20 Email Update

Dear NNJ family,

We miss you guys so much!

We just wanted to send a quick update:

Most tournaments are starting to reschedule their canceled dates. Once all of those dates are published, we will put a schedule together for each team with the new dates for continuing our season. We will also put updated practice schedules together. Our plan is still to get back in the gym April 16, possibly with a modified method that includes fewer people in the gym at a time.

Please continue to follow our newsletters and social media for updates and ways for the players to connect. We truly miss everyone so much and cannot wait to be back in the gym.

Wishing everyone great health during this time!

Dear NNJ family,

We hope everyone is well and home safe with your families.

We wanted to give you a quick update on where we are today. In observance of Governor Sisolak’s closure of non-essential businesses last night, we will remain closed until we’re allowed to open.

Our club season will be extended to make up for missed practices and training. Our regional governing body has been working with all club programs to figure out contingency dates for our Power and Premier League tournaments. Many national qualifiers are working to reschedule as well.

The situation continues to change quickly, and we will update you when possible with new information. It’s our goal to always communicate with our families in a proactive and meaningful way.

We miss seeing you and your kiddos in the gym so much. We know this time is hard and there is a lot of uncertainty, but we’re hopeful that as we “flatten the curve” over the next 29 days, we’ll all realize how fortunate we are to have such incredible support around us. We certainly feel that gratitude for you, and are so grateful to have you on our team.

We are not-so-patiently awaiting the end of this phase when we can continue our season with more enthusiasm and passion than ever.

Our best, always,

Jason and Alix Sterrett

Dear NNJ family,

A lot has developed over the last couple of days. Please know that we are working our hardest to stay up on all of the latest information.

At this time we’re planning on getting back to training Monday, March 30. We will begin that week with a modified schedule, which we will complete this week and put out to you by this Monday, March 23. We are planning on making up the time that we have missed. Because many tournament organizers are looking at dates to reschedule, it’s likely that club season may extend well into May.

The NNJ staff remains busy at this time. Coaches are still being paid and working hard to prepare for the return of the teams. We are working on mid-season evaluations and Amy is continuing to work on recruiting. We're disinfecting the facility from top to bottom, and are meeting in small groups to plan the training program for the summer. Looking at the bright side, this has been a great time for our coaches to evaluate where we are and plan for the rest of the season, and this time has reaffirmed to me that our staff's commitment to our NNJ families and programs is unmatched. I want to thank everyone for the continued support and willingness to hang in there with us during this tough time.

Wishing you all health and safety,

Jason Sterrett

Club Director Jason Sterrett Statement—March 12, 2020

Dear NNJ Family,

As I sit here writing to you today, a great number of feelings come to mind. Our country, communities, and families' ways of life are changing right before our eyes, and we are trying to figure out how to navigate this unprecedented situation. Opinions vary in any crisis, especially regarding what course of action we should take. As a small business, we value all of the differing opinions and are taking them all into consideration.

With that being said, it has been recommended by the Junior Volleyball Association, as well as local health professionals, that we close for two weeks beginning today, March 12, 2020 through March 26, 2020. We are in the process of working out all the logistics and plans for after this break, including making up missed sessions. Our hope will be to make up as much missed time as possible once we return.

We wish you all great health and time with your families. If you have any questions feel free to call Alix or myself.

Thank you,

Jason Sterrett
