Three Ways to Give Back This Holiday Season

NNJ Volleyball is doing our part to aid in a few community events to benefit the less fortunate this holiday season and would greatly appreciate support from our NNJ family.

In coordination with Jenna Sterrett, Bishop Manogue High School and Northwest Community Outreach, we will be participating in a food drive to help families and children in need this holiday season. We would appreciate any donation of non-perishable food items you are willing to give.

In conjunction with the Katie Grace Foundation and Project 150 Reno, we will also be gathering shoes for children in need. Katie Weingartner loved shoes as much as playing volleyball. To honor her, we are asking you to drop off gently used or new shoes here at NNJ (all sizes are welcome, including shoes for toddlers). Project 150 Reno looks to provide basic-need items to over 30 schools in Northern Nevada. Many of these schools have a permanent closet that is stocked by Project 150 liaisons; one of which includes a shoe room styled in Katie’s favorite color---purple. With loving memory of Katie and the life she shared with others, please consider donating a pair of shoes for her birthday month of December.

The Katie Grace Foundation is also spearheading 18 Bags for Christmas, a collection of winter essentials which will be donated to those in need of items to help make their holiday season a little warmer. These items include gloves, scarves and hats/beanies. Toiletry items for men and women are also being needed.

Drop off bins have been provided in the foyer at NNJ for all of these great efforts. Please drop your items off before December 19.

We truly appreciate any donations you are willing to make this holiday season.
